Opus intends to become certified at the level 4 of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) soon. The Capability Maturity Model for software, developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie-Mellon University, is a framework that describes the key elements of an effective software development process. It covers the practices for planning, engineering and managing software development and maintenance. When followed, this methodology improves the ability of organizations to meet their goals for cost, schedule, functionality and product/process quality. By focusing on a limited set of activities and working aggressively to achieve them Opus can steadily improve its organization-wide software process, and thereby will enable continuous and lasting gains in software process capability. |
